- What does "trending" mean on A Versus B?
- A comparison appears as trending when it accumulates a high number of page views, community votes, or social shares within a rolling 7-day window. The list refreshes every 5 minutes so it always reflects the most current reader interest.
- How often is the trending list updated?
- The trending page is updated every 5 minutes using Incremental Static Regeneration (ISR). New comparisons can enter the list as soon as they accumulate enough engagement signals — view count, votes, and referral traffic are all weighted.
- Can I filter trending comparisons by category?
- Yes. Use the category chips at the top of the page to filter by topic — Technology, Sports, Countries, Products, Health, and more. You can also sort by views, votes, or alphabetically using the sort selector.
- Why do certain comparisons appear at the top of trending?
- Rankings combine absolute view count with recent velocity — a comparison that suddenly spiked in the last 24 hours can rank above one with higher total views but slower recent growth. Seasonal events, news stories, and social sharing all contribute to spikes.
- How can I suggest a comparison for A Versus B?
- You can submit a comparison request via the Requests page. Popular community requests are prioritized for research and publication. Once published, comparisons immediately become eligible to appear in trending if they attract reader interest.
