iPhone is better for: ecosystem integration (Mac, iPad, AirPods, Watch), privacy/security, long software support (5-6 years), consistent performance, and iMessage in social circles. Samsung is better for: hardware variety (foldables, more size options), Android customization, file transfers, microSD support on some models, and cross-platform flexibility. The 'right' choice depends on your ecosystem — if you use a Mac and iPad, iPhone is the obvious choice; if you use Windows and Google services, Samsung integrates better.

Apple provides software updates for iPhones for approximately 5-6 years from release. iPhone XS (2018) received iOS 17 (2023) — 5 years of major updates. iPhone 15 series (2023) is expected to receive updates through approximately 2028-2029. This is significantly longer than Android manufacturers: Google supports Pixel phones for 7 years (Pixel 8+), Samsung for 7 years on flagships, but most Android phones receive only 2-3 years of major OS updates.
